I'm really bad at updating! HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY VIVIAN

So, again, I haven't updated this since Mother's day, which was 5 months ago! wow. So much has gone on since then, and since I don't want to write a novel I'll make it very short.
Vivian turns 1 tomorrow (can you beleive it?!) and Nicolas started 2nd grade a month ago. We are not having much luck with the school system right now, because they refuse to admit that they are going to have to fork over a lot of money to make sure he gets the right education. That's a working progress right now, that has me a little more than overwhelmed.

Today was Vivian's first birthday party, and it was a success. Lots of kids, and lots of presents, as Nate said, it looked like Fisher Price puked in the room! haha. She loved the cake. She loved throwing it on the floor even more.

Mother's Day 2009(and an update, which is way overdue!)

I can really say that I love Mother's Day. I don't care about the gifts, but I just love the fact that there is at least one day that is completely dedicated to telling moms all over the place that they are doing a great job! It might not feel like it all the time...but in the long run, we all know that we are doing as good of a job as we possibly can, and at the end of the day, I think we should have a good night's sleep for that.

Nicolas got to come home today for the whole day. For those who do not know, he is in a special residential program to help him with his behavior problems. He is doing really well for the most part, but of course there are bumps in the road every once and a while. I really need to get him tested for Asperger's Syndrome very soon. All of his counselors and doctors seem to think that's what he has, but we're just waiting on a diagnosis... Of course in the great city of Virginia Beach, and surrounding areas, it's like pulling teeth to get an appointment with any of these specialists!

Vivian is doing wonderful! 7 months old, I really can't believe it. She's going to be crawling any day, she can go backwards, but that's about it. We had a little scare with her a couple weeks ago when she had an unexplainable fever for almost a week. When it started to spike at 104 for 2 days straight, I knew that something was really wrong. I took her to the doctor PRAYING for an ear infection, since that would be the easiest thing to figure out...of course it wasn't. Turns out she had a Urinary Tract Infection, which completely confused me (btw, the next person to tell me front to back! I'm gonna snap). So they're going to do a few more tests with ultrasounds and a dye catheter to make sure that everything's working properly with her kidneys and bladder. She's acting completely normal, so I'm hoping the infection was just a fluke!

Anyways, today was wonderful! Other than poor Nate having to work like 16 hours today (Mother's day is the single busiest day of the year for restaurants). I hope to have many more awesome days like this!

Just Keep Swimming...

We have always known that Viv loves grandpa's fish tank, but I never really put her up close (because she loves to stare at it from far away). Well, we discovered that she LOVES to watch "Dory" swim around the tank. It's so cute, my dad says it looks like she's watching a NASCAR race. Dory is the only one that she watches though, I think it's because she's so bright, and is the most active.

Blogger problems

So, as computer saavy as I try to be, I can't figure out why my blog doesn't take comments! It's really frustrating, and I don't think my blog is all that popular, but the few people that do read it, I'd like to at least get a few comments. Anywho, if anyone knows what I'm doing wrong, emial me Missjen0124@yahoo.com. THANKS

Eat Every Bean and Pea on your Plate!

Viv is growing so fast! She recently started eating cereal, and since day one she acts like I should have been giving her food at birth! I decided to give her the "grosest" baby food, peas, first along with her cereal, and it apparantly nothing phases her.. She's definitely going to be my little piggy! Along with the amount of food Nicolas eats, these two are going to eat me out of my house!
