I can really say that I love Mother's Day. I don't care about the gifts, but I just love the fact that there is at least one day that is completely dedicated to telling moms all over the place that they are doing a great job! It might not feel like it all the time...but in the long run, we all know that we are doing as good of a job as we possibly can, and at the end of the day, I think we should have a good night's sleep for that.
Nicolas got to come home today for the whole day. For those who do not know, he is in a special residential program to help him with his behavior problems. He is doing really well for the most part, but of course there are bumps in the road every once and a while. I really need to get him tested for Asperger's Syndrome very soon. All of his counselors and doctors seem to think that's what he has, but we're just waiting on a diagnosis... Of course in the great city of Virginia Beach, and surrounding areas, it's like pulling teeth to get an appointment with any of these specialists!
Vivian is doing wonderful! 7 months old, I really can't believe it. She's going to be crawling any day, she can go backwards, but that's about it. We had a little scare with her a couple weeks ago when she had an unexplainable fever for almost a week. When it started to spike at 104 for 2 days straight, I knew that something was really wrong. I took her to the doctor PRAYING for an ear infection, since that would be the easiest thing to figure out...of course it wasn't. Turns out she had a Urinary Tract Infection, which completely confused me (btw, the next person to tell me front to back! I'm gonna snap). So they're going to do a few more tests with ultrasounds and a dye catheter to make sure that everything's working properly with her kidneys and bladder. She's acting completely normal, so I'm hoping the infection was just a fluke!
Anyways, today was wonderful! Other than poor Nate having to work like 16 hours today (Mother's day is the single busiest day of the year for restaurants). I hope to have many more awesome days like this!
